Diamond Cycle Tours Support Hartley Challenge Again in 2012

Diamond Cycle Tours is again supporting the Hartley Cycle Challenge in 2012. This event is the biggest single fundraiser for this very worthwhile cause and Diamond Cycle Tours is proud to again be associated with the event. Last year we collectively raised over $300,000 as a consequence of fundraising associated with the Challenge ride. This year we are hoping to raise even more. As riders we also get a lot out of this event. Much more than the ride, which incidentally is awesome at 45o ks with lots of hills, we get the cameraderie of the Hartley team and all the other riders. The long weekend of 25- 28 November 2012 will see a long line of cyclists heading up the Monaro Highway. Jyndabyne is the target on day 1, Charlottes Pass on Day 2 and return to Canberra on day 3. So wish us luck for this epic ride and great cause!

Tour Down Under 2012

We had a great time at the Tour Down Under this year. With lots of riders in our group we had the roads and coffee shops in Adelaide and the hills covered. Our keenest rider managed nearly 1200kms for the week so not all of the time was spent in coffee shops! With the hot weather everyone was glad of the hospitality tent at the KOM point.  The TDU is one of the best stage races in the world to follow as we managed to see a variety of starts, KOMs and finishes during the week and all of this on the bike. How good is that!

Website Update

Apologies if you had trouble viewing our website in the last fortnight. We changed web hosts and our site got caught in the ether! Happily we are back but we have lost some of the blogs which is a shame as they showed the support we have been giving to our key charities Hartley Disability and the Kids Foundation.

These charities do fantastic work in our communities and we are trying to return the favour by supporting their fundraising cycle challenges. For Hartley we sponsor a team that has to ride from Canberra to Kosciusko and return, a journey of around 450kms in 3 days. The Kids Foundation is a ride from Port Melbourne to Port Macquarie. The Port to Port ride is in May so we are getting set for it right now.

Anyone who wants to join in on this effort is welcome to get in touch using the attached form.

Hartley 2010 a great success!

Diamond Cycle Tours again supported the Hartley Disability Challenge Ride. 260 riders along with support crew made the journey from Canberra to Charlotte’s Pass and return.

It was 450kms in 3 days in very challenging conditions. Despite the wind and rain which has been part and parcel of Hartley rides in recent years, the ride was a great success. On the bike we rose to the challenge and didn’t let the elements defeat us.

With the fundraising we surpassed ourselves raising close to half a million dollars!
